Tespelduyn-ESTEC Challenge – 14/4/2018 -12:00

This 18 holes golf event will be played at
Tespelduyn and will be an individual Stableford format with the best 10 scores
from each side counting. There will of course also be plenty of individual
prizes.
Registration
starting at 12.00 hrs. for a shotgun start at 13.00 hrs. Tea & coffee will
be served during registration. Fee for ESTEC members is €30.00; the green fee,
all prizes, coffee & tea before the event and prosecco/bitterballen after
the event (during the prize giving) are all included in this fee.


Please register ASAP and
contact me directly if you need a handicart or a buggy (contact details available in Proware event); these will probably be
shared. Handicart costs €5.00 and buggy costs €12.50.
We look forward to this event especially in the
spring at Tespelduyn as the views of the flower fields are
spectacular.

CANCELLED – Colin Rolls Trophy – 18/3: Scramble

COLIN ROLLS TROPHY SCRAMBLE 18/3 CANCELLED

Considering the weather forecast (freezing temperatures combined with strong winds) for this Sunday the organiser has, after due consideration, decided to cancel the Colin Rolls trophy scheduled for Sunday.

The organiser thanks everyone that made themselves available for the competition this Sunday!

The first round of the Colin Rolls Trophy will be played on Sunday 18 March. The first tee is closed from 9:40 until after the last flight has played hole 10 at circa 14:30.

Scramble

2 players from the same team play as a pair:
– Every player in the pair tees off. This counts as one shot for the pair.
– The pair selects the ball it likes best and everyone plays from this position. This counts as the second shot for the pair. The ball may be placed on the fairway (closely mown grass) but must be dropped in the rough or hazard.
– This process is repeated until the ball is holed. Each time the process is repeated it counts as one shot for the pair.

For the Scramble a team may enter any number of pairs. The “strokes received” shall be the lower of the players.
Examples: 1 A 1 player pair with strokes received of 19 shall receive 19 strokes
2. A 2 player pair with strokes received of 21 & 16 shall receive 16 strokes
The team score shall be the sum of the scores of the best two pairs.
Example: 1. A three pair team score 31,35 & 34 stbl. Pts.. The team score is 35 +34 = 69

Re-construction of Green-9

The design as presented at the AGM is still applicable.
The layout has been slightly updated to allow a pin position a little more behind the bunker.
The revetted bunker wall will have a height variation from 40-90 cm. This should also make it a bit more challenging.
Due to the bunker layout it is always possible to play to the side if the height is considered too tough.

The cost after discussion with Hoek Hoveniers and taking into account a small reduction gained from maintenance contract of last year is estimated to €28200,-
including, the cost for the architect, and a cost reimbursement provision of 1500,- for the sprinkler system.

The design is as per attach drawing made by the landscape/golf course architect Ir. Aart Bertgsma, Bureau de Klare Lijn.
He has been recommended to us by Hoek Hovenier, who has worked with this office before, and where also the fees are somewhat reasonable.

The ‘Werktekening’ is showing draining and sprinklers system:

As can be seen on the “Werktekening” the Green is slightly bigger than the old,
but should also be a little bit more interesting / challenging than the existing Green.

The Planning goes as follows:

phase-1:19/2 – 6/3 preparatory ground work
phase-2: grass mat rollout 19-23 March (all dates subject to weather conditions)

With a favourable Spring it should be ready for use around May-2018.
