Winner Club Matchplay Competition – Domenico Mignolo!

Dear Members,

The Club Matchplay Competition has come to its conclusion. We started with 47 players, but only one player could win the trophy. In the end one player managed to win all his matches and thereby securing the victory:

DOMENICO MIGNOLO

Congratulations Domenico!!

In the attached file you can see his route to the final and the results of the other matches.

Thank you all for playing and the Club Matchplay Competition will return in 2017!

Advance Notice – EGC 3 Club Competition.

Please make a note in your diary for the EGC 3 Club
competition to be held on 20 November 2016 which will feature an individual and
a team event.

In brief:

– only 3 clubs of any description to be used and carried
in the bag, (penalty – disqualification
if more)

– choice of play from red or yellow tees, as usual,

– format will be Stableford (handicap current on 20
November),

There will be (hopefully) a trophy for the winner of the
individual competition.

The teams will be those as in the 2016 Colin Rolls
Trophy, i.e. Andy Caps, Babes and the Boys, Friday’s Men and Mulligans. Players
not affiliated to one of those may be formed into a fifth team.

The sign-up on Proware will be opened on ~ 20 October
with the number of players limited to 36, first come, first served.

We will have a shotgun start at 12:00 (Escape arrival
11:15).

Start thinking about the best 3 clubs to use.

Results 2016 Club Championship

This weekend the 2016 Club Championship was played. 34 players
played the preliminary round on Saturday and 27 players that made the
cut played on Sunday to determine the winner. The weather gods were on
our side because the entire weekend we had perfect
golfing weather with sunshine and little to no wind.

A special thank you goes to the greenkeepers for getting the course
in perfect condition for the weekend and the ESCAPE crew for their
great care and for putting up with us the entire weekend!

After 2 rounds there still were many players that could make claim
to the victory. In the end one person kept it together and was able to
play 3 sub-70 rounds to claim the victory:

Raffaele Tosellini

With
a brilliant total score of 206 strokes he took the win! This is a great
result and a huge congratulations is in order to the deserving winner!

In the attachments you can find the results from the separate rounds plus the final leader board.

The Club Championship will return in 2017 where Raffaele will have a chance to defend his title.
