Please find attached the results for today’s first round of the 2016 Club Championship and the start list for tomorrow:

Dear Members,

This weekend the 2016
Club Championship will be played. For this event the course will be
closed on Saturday from 7:40 until 17:00 and on Sunday from 8:00 until
17:00.

For the participants please find
attached the start list for Saturday. Please be on time for your tee
time and remember the following rules:

– Competition
is strokeplay off scratch, you need to hole out on each hole and there
is no handicap adjustment to your final total score

– Everybody plays from the yellow tees

– Please make sure your scorecards are filled out complete and correct! All rounds will be qualifying.

On a bit windy but otherwise lovely Sunday 28/8 the Walker Cup was played. 18 Cat. 2 (handicap >19.9) players battled for the prestigious Walker Cup. In support there were also 4 Cat. 1 (handicap < 20.0) players participating. The format of the competition was stableford. After calculating the results the following winners could be announced:

4th place: Nely Borst
3rd place: Kjeld Hjortnaes
2nd place: Paul McManamon
Winner: Emmanuel Sabourin

The winner of the Cat. 1 players was Hanna Jones.

Please find in the attachment the full results (handicap adjustment after the Serco Challenge has not yet taken place in Proware. So results in the attachment may differ from what was submitted on the scorecards, but had no effect on the winning places).

The Walker Cup is one of the most important competitions for Cat. 2 (exact hcp > 19.9) players. This is basically the Cat. 2 Club Championship. It is a straightforward stableford competition and the player with the best score will win the Walker Cup. Cat. 1 players are also invited to participate, there will be some nice prizes for them to win on the day too.
