Presentation Tournament 2022

You are all invited to the Presentation Tournament on January 22nd.

The Presentation Tournament format is played “against Par” with handicap adjustment, which is a modified stableford competition.
It is like a matchplay against the course. if you score lower than net par, you win the hole and you get a point. if you score net par, you half the hole and get no point. If you score more than net par, you lose the hole and get -1. The winner is the one with the most positive value.

We usually combine this event with a dinner in the evening, where we present all the trophies of the preceding year and their winner. But once again, due to Covid restrictions and all the restaurants being closed, we are not able to do that this year. We will however try to book a dinner during a weekend, as soon as the restaurants open again, hopefully in just a few weeks, so stay tuned for this.

All the trophies will be on display in the vitrine in the hut, with a list of all of last year’s results for everyone to see.

Registration for the competition is open in Proware.

Captain’s Day report and results

The Captains Day competition has been played last Sunday November the 14th. The weather was a little on the cold side, but with light winds and no rain, so good golfing condition for the season.

The format was a classic individual stableford, and the scores were pretty good, we can feel the effect of the new course rating.

In 3rd place with 38 points we have Geoffrey Beckwith. Second with 40 points the always competitive Brian Taylor. but this time he fell short 2 points to Raffaele Tosellini who is the winner with an excellent 42 points !!!

Best Lady was Clare Bingham with 36 points.

Congratulations to Raffaele !

Chairman/Captain Challenge 2021 report and results

On Sunday October the 24th, the Chairman/Captain challenge was played on the ESTEC course. The weather was nothing short of perfect, with low winds, and not single a cloud in the sky.

19 participants (one last minute drop out unfortunately) took advantage of the good weather, and joined this competition. The game format was a Fox hunt, a four balls better ball with the par set by the Chairman / Captain team (the foxes).

Carl and myself tried made our best to set the bar high, and have the foxes escape. The par differential was as follow:

Hole #DifferentialHole #Differential
1010-1
2011-1
3-112-1
4-1130
5+114-1
6015-1
70160
8-1170
90180

Pretty good score, but the foxes were nonetheless caught.

It was a tight race to top, with the pair Raffaele Tosellini and Tony van Rosmalen the winner with 38 points, one point in front of Brian Taylor and Reno Harboe-Sorensen 37 points. In 3rd place came Peter Behrmann and Barteld de Jong with 36 points, just catching the foxes.
