Kings Day Social 2019 results

Despite the rather inclement weather, 24 intrepid players turned up
on Saturday 27 April to celebrate King’s Day with a sparkling round of golf! As
usual there were prizes for the winners as well as the ‘best dressed’ (or most
orange) player! We played a 4-ball scramble with an orange ball twist, which, as
usual, caused confusion amongst the players (well a social would not be a social
without some confusion)!

The outstanding winner of the best outfit was Margaret Baston (see photo
attached) who actually played the whole round in the costume (despite some
hiccups with the braces)! The winning team were Wil, Anna, Ton and Marga who
beat Joe, Brian, Floor and Rod with a better score over the last 4 holes!

There is talk of a summer social but that will depend of course on the
Committee and the support of the Club members! 24 is really the minimum number
of players we need to run this sort of event!

Chaturvedi Veteran’s Tournament, 14/16 May

Dear EGC Veterans,

The 7th Chaturvedi Veterans Tournament will be held at the ECG over two days on Tuesday 14 and Thursday 16 MAY. This is three weeks earlier than most years to avoid a congestion of events caused by the hosting of the ESA Cup.

To increase participation from this year, to be eligible for the competition, players must have been born in 1959 or earlier. Veterans’ spouses, not of qualifying age, are also invited to play.

The format as usual will be medal stroke play (gross score – playing handicap) over 2 x 18 holes.

Shotgun start on both days at 14:00 – please meet at Check Inn at 13:30 to ensure a prompt start.
REMEMBER – parking by ESCAPE or close to the Check Inn is difficult these days!

The tournament dinner for players and spouses/partners will take place on Thursday 16 May at 19:00 in the Restaurant Peking, Wassenaarseweg 50A, Katwijk (by the major junction on the N206). Price per person, excl. drinks is €28.

Please use the Proware system to register to play and sign-up under ‘Opmerking’ for the dinner.

Registration for the tournament and dinner will close on Friday 10 May.
