The second round of the EGC / Vijf Margen Challenge was played on 23rd May (at GCN)
Vijf Margen were the winners over the 2 rounds – by the small margin of 4 Stableford points.
The event was very enjoyable, and will be organised again next year. See full report & results attached.

EGC / Vijf Margen Challenge – 1st Round
The first of the 2 rounds of the EGC / Vijf Margen Challenge was played at ESTEC on 16th May. See the attached report,
2024 Presentation Tournament
The 2024 Presentation Tournament was held at ESTEC on the 24th March (having been postponed from January)
12 intrepid golfers braved the rain showers, cool temperatures (around 8 degrees) and strong winds to play the event, the format of which was “Against Par” with handicap adjustment.
After the golf the players gathered in Escape to dry out and warm up over a drink, and the prize-giving took place. The prize winners were;
Neary on Hole 1; JOE PEREIRA
Longest Drive Hole 2 Ladies; CLARE BINGHAM
Longest Drive Hole 3 Mens; GRAEME MASON
Neary Hole 4; JOE PEREIRA
Neary Hole 5; SANDER BORST
Neary Hole 6; (nobody managed to hit the green)
Neary Hole 9; WILLEM BORST
In third place, with a score of 0, was STEPHEN DURRANT winning an EGC Bag Towel
In second place, with a score of -1, was GRAEME MASON winning an EGC Bag Towel
And in first place, with a score of -4, was JOE PEREIRA winning an EGC Bag Towel and the 2024 Presentation Trophy
Well done to Joe and all the prize winners, and thanks to everyone who supported the event.

2023 Captains Day Report
The 2023 Captains Day took place on Sunday 27th August as planned, with 28 brave participants making it to the start despite the forecast for thunderstorms. To everyones (particularly mine) relief the storms stayed away.
The course (and in particular the greens) were in lovely condition – well done Ton !
And so………….to the results…………………
There were nearies on holes 1, 4, and 9
Neary on hole 1 was won by Ben
Neary on hole 4 was won by Andrew
And on hole 9 the near was won by Vincent
In the Best Lady competition, Francis was in 3rd place with 34 Stableford points, Geraldine took 2nd place with 35 points, and the Winner of the Lady Captains Cup was Will – also with 35 points but a better back 9. Congratulations Will !
And in the Captains Trophy, John Reddy was in 3rd place with 35 points, 2nd place went to Brian with 36 points, and the Captains Trophy winner, with a very good score of 40 points was Henk. Congratulations to Henk
After the prize giving we all sat down to some Tapas style food – with the compliments of the club – and a few drinks. Everyone seemed to agree that it was an enjoyable day and a good social gathering.
