The second 2023 EGC social scramble competition, the Whit Monday event (the first ever in the EGC), took place on 29 May 2023 with 24 players in 8 different 3-balls flights/teams – using the red tees and playing Strokeplay from scratch. The weather was fair but not as sunny as predicted and unfortunately still with a cold wind.
The best team score was recorded by Team 1 with an incredible score of 59 or + 1, and fancy Appassimento wine was presented to the winners: Ben Smeltink, Marja and Rod Allen. The second best Team score was recorded by Team 4, Mary, Anneke and Joachim with 63 followed by team 5, with Joe, Piet and Susanne as third. All team scores can be found attached.
After a short prize giving at ESCAPE, all players socialized and enjoyed a winners drink.
Finally, most of the present players were in favor for another EGC social golf event to take place at ESTEC as a Summer Social, most likely in July or August 2023.
