With a Shotgun start at 12:00, the fourth 2026 Colin Rolls Trophy event “Foursome” took place on Sunday 14 June under fair weather conditions with temperature around 18 deg. C. Altogether we managed to start with a record high number of 33 players in 8 flights (one flight with 3 pairs) where each pair represented one of the four traditional teams. The best pair score was recorded by 4 pairs each having 35 St. P., were 3 pairs ending up with the same back 9, back 6 and back 3 scores. Eventually Erik/Mary was declared winners since using the lowest pair handicap of 7, followed by Vincent/Helma using 15 strokes and Joe/Stephen using 20 strokes. The best team score counting the two best score per team, was recorded by the “Babes and the Boys” team with 70 St.P. followed by the “Friday’s Men” team with 69 St.P. the “Mulligans” with 68 St. P. and finally the “Andy Caps” with 58 St. P. Winner CRT 2026:
After play on Sunday, the prize giving took place at ESCAPE where the envelope cash donations (over all 4 CRT events) covered purchase of prizes, drinks and snacks to everyone. So in the tradition of our past sponsor, 24 bottles of South African wine was lined up at the organizers table for 2026 CRT prizes.
Firstly, the 4 team captains work was recognized by wine bottles to Wil, Graeme, Garry and Reno.
Secondly wine was presented to the best pair scores per event; Scramble: Francis/Marga, Greensome: Marga/Francis, Better Ball: Gijs/Reno and Foursome: Erik/Mary.
Finally the overall CRT 2026 results was announced where the “Andy Caps” team score of 302 St. P. but unfortunately only resulted in a fourth place. On third we had the “Babes and the Boys” team with 322 St.P. and on second the “Friday’s Men” team with 328 St.P. The 2026 winner was the “Mulligans” team with 330 St.P., thus 2 points ahead of “Friday’s Men” team. Wine bottles were collected by each present members of the winning team, before Wil as captain of the “Mulligans” team, lifted the prestigious trophy for the first time since 2015.
The four CRT 2026 events took place with a total of 129 players compared to 111 players in 2025, however, with 48 different players – four more than last year. This year, 16 players participated in all 4 CRT events (last year only 9) and 8 players in only one event! However, it was nice to see all teams having 7 players participating in 4 or 3 of the events. If of interest, all players individual performance can also be found below.
