Club Championship 1st round / Walker Cup – September 10th

Dear Club Members,
The first round of the club championship will happen on Saturday September 10th, and will be combined with the Walker cup.

Club Championship
The club championship is our annual Stroke Play competition, with no handicap compensation, and played from yellow tees. This year we are back with the usual format with 3 rounds. There will be a cut, only the players with the 18 best scores will be qualified for the 2nd and 3rd round on Sunday 11th.

Walker Cup
The Walker Cup is our annual Category 2 championship. Only players with a handicap of 24 or more can participate (from any tees). The competition format is Stableford. Participating in both competitions is possible for cat 2 players, as long as the yellow tees are used.

Meet EGC Mascot – Pietro the pond marshal

Dear members,

Please beware of the new pond marshal in EGC course. He is hard to miss being 30cm tall (or long), like on August 10 when he was out on the 9th green.

The newly cleaned pond in hole 3 has been declared his residence as arranged by EGC course manager Peter Behrmann on the said date.

So dear members, please if you have not been doing so already, please avoid the pond at all cost when you hit your tee shot.

Note that ESTEC had to concede a game to BP due to too many people dropping out at the last minute.

We still have 3 games to play: 2 home games on August 23rd August 30th (against EPO and BP), and another yet to schedule away game against EPO in RGC.

We still have a very tiny chance of winning the league this year, but that would require a clean sweep, 3 6-0 wins. Not very likely, but we have to try!
