Sunday 15 March 2026: CRT-1 Scramble, Report and Results.

We had 33 player on the 2026 Colin Rolls Trophy “Scramble” start list for Sunday 15th of  March 2026 (last year we had 29 players). The “Mulligans” team had 10 players, the “Babes and the Boys” team 8 players, the “Andy Caps” team 7 players and the “Friday’s Men” team 8 players, so a fairly balanced event with a shotgun start at 12:00. The weather for the first CRT-1 was sunny with a cold wind and a temperatures around 12 Deg. C.

The best pair score was recorded by Marga and Francis with 48 St. P. followed by Rob/Gijs with 47 ST.P. and then 3 pairs with 44 ST.P. (Garry/Piet, Helma/Mark and Graeme/Isabel). The best team score counting the two best score per team, was recorded by the “Mulligans” team with 92 St.P. followed by the “Friday’s Men” team with 90 St.P. the “Babes and the Boys” team with 87 St.P.” and finally the “Andy Caps” team with 84 St. P. All pair and team results can be found attached.

Highlights:

In this year’s CRT-1, the first 12 pair(out of 17)had scores between 40 and 48 St. P./pair and the average score for all can be reported to be 40.9, somewhat close to the number of 41,4 reported in 2025. Interesting here is that the pair average handicap, number of strokes received, decreased in 2026 to 19.9 compare to 21.0 in 2025. So altogether not a big change since last year. It was nice to see 9 lady players participating, until now, the same number of ladies played in the 3 first Monthlies in 2026!

Also a BIG WELCOME to 8 new CRT players: Susanne Gehrer-Fuchs, Marianne Johansson, Isabel Lopez Calle, Andreas Obst, Mike Healy, Joachim Fuchs, Martin Johansson and Mark Wagner, who all also attended the social afterwards where Reno offered a drinks to all and Francis/Marga (winning pair) offered Bitterballen – a very enjoyable late afternoon at ESCAPE.

Finaly prior to the preliminary CRT-1 results announcement, Reno mentioned the loss of our CRT sponsor for the past 25 years Aurora via Alex Geanes and suggested a free Euro cash collection among 2026 players, for prizes and a final social on the last event day CRT-4 on 14 June 2026. Obviously it was known that most players do not have cash these days, however, everyone was reminded to bring a small cash contribution for the next event CRT-2 on 19 April 2026, or if needed to be remined again to contribute during CRT-3 on 10 May 2026. Already 7 players dropped a cash donation in the envelope during the CRT-1 social – certainly a highly appreciated start.
